Katie Block

Executive Director

Katie Block has stepped on in 2021 as the Executive Director to oversee the weekly communication and sponsorships/donor relationships.  Part of Katie's role is to stay in weekly communication with the leaders on the grounds at the Footprints Orphanage as well as at the Garden City Health Clinic.

Dr. Jeff Smith

Board Chairman

Dr. Smith is a general surgeon from Alma, Michigan.  Dr Smith is the founder of Footprints Missions.  He has lead many trips to Sierra Leone for medical mission trips as well as beginning the Footprints Ebola Orphanage.

Kathy Smith

Footprints Treasurer

Kathy currently serves as the treasurer for Footprints.  Her role is vital in tracking donations and sending funds directly to the orphanage and medical center in Sierra Leone.

Diane Laffoon

Board Member

Diane Laffoon is a wellness coach, joy junkie, and essential oil enthusiast dedicated to helping women experience lives full of joy! After graduating from Taylor University with a degree in psychology, her career has always involved working with people while traveling nationally and internationally as a trainer and mentor. With over 30 years of experience working with non-profit Christian ministries, Diane brings insight to the Board meetings of Footprints Missions with strategies for connecting people with the needs of the children in Sierra Leone.

Robin Whitmore

Footprints Board Member

Robin has been a board member for Footprints Missions since it started in October 2010.  She has worked in healthcare and healthcare over 40 years.  Robin is also actively involved in her church, First Church of God in Alma, Michigan.

Paul Loney

Board Member

Paul and his wife, Teri, live in West Michigan.  After thirteen years in pastoral ministry, he was a Regional Sales Manager for Garr Tool in Alma for 27 years, retiring in 2016.  He was with Dr. Smith on the first trip back to Sierra Leone in 2019 after the Ebola outbreak.  He and Teri were on the 2020 team.
